The building was built in 1887. according to the design of the famous architect from Subotica Titus Mačković and originally served as the residence of Sándor Kertész, the town’s chief physician at the time. In later years, it became the property of the Basch family, after whom the building became known in Subotica as the Basch House.
Throughout the ages, the villa has changed its purpose – it has witnessed residential and commercial eras, and today proudly opens a new chapter in its history – Basch House 1887, a restaurant created out of love for excellence and dedication to the authentic spirit of this place.
